सत्यनारायण पूजा

The Satyanarayan Puja is a highly popular and spiritually rewarding ritual dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A detailed description of this worship can be found in the *Reva Khanda* of the *Skanda Purana*. Scriptures prescribe that the entire family should perform this puja together. Listening to the Satyanarayan *Katha* (narrative)—which is divided into five chapters—forms the central part of the ritual; the story recounts the blessings received by various devotees who performed this worship. *Rava Sheera* (semolina pudding) is distributed as *Prasad*. This puja is frequently performed on occasions such as housewarming ceremonies, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and the purchase of a new vehicle. Performing this puja on a full moon day (*Purnima*) or during the holy month of *Shravan* is believed to yield special spiritual benefits.
